Training Courses in Laser Sweat Ablation
Training in Laser Sweat Ablation is going to begin at the new Whiteley Clinic training centre in Autumn 2009.
There are going to be courses for the following people:
- Doctors who wish to perform Laser Sweat Ablation - a hands on course with certification of training
- Doctors who wish to observe Laser Sweat Ablation and to know more - but not actually perform the procedure at present - certification of attendance given.
- Nurses and other health professional who wish to know more about the procedure, setting up or ordering the equipment etc.- certificate of attendance given.
Courses will be run at The Whiteley Clinic training centre at 3 Stirling House, Stirling Road, Guildford GU2 7RF.
The lecture theatre is video linked to the operating theatre for a full interactive experience.
Delegates will be able to talk to the surgeon and patient during the procedure via the video link.
Lectures, tutorials and question and answer sessions will insure that all delegates have a full understanding of the procedure by the end of the course.
This course should be available and an interactive online course in early in 2010.
Doctors wishing to have the 'hands on' training and certification will be required to attend theatre at 1 Stirling House, Stirling Road, Guildford GU2 7RF and to perform at least one Laser Sweat Ablation under direct supervision of the course director in addition to attending the lectures, tutorials and question and answer sessions.

Who can be trained to perform Laser Sweat Ablation?
It is preferable that delegates who want to do the 'hands on' training and want to start Laser Sweat Ablation in their own practice have some surigical experience.
Appointment as a surgeon at least to level SpR or an FRCS is preferred.
However, we are happy to train other doctors who have considerable experience in similar procedures - such as laser liposuction with aspiration. If you would like to check your eligibility, please contact us and let us know your experience, so we can assess your training requirements.
Note
Although "Laser Sweat Ablation" or "LSA" has been advertised elsewhere in the UK, the actual Laser Sweat Ablation procedure has only been developed by Mark Whiteley of The Whiteley Clinic. This is being continuously improved and modified on the results of The Whiteley Clinic’s on-going audit and research. To date, no UK doctor has been on the Whiteley Clinic LSA course to learn this technique. Hence any other individual, clinic or hospital in the UK offering "Laser Sweat Ablation" or "LSA" is not using the Whiteley Technique and has not been trained in the settings and techniques that The Whiteley Clinic has shown to be optimal by it’s research.
